Client's new site is not doing well in search results and they are complaining.
We just went live last week and it looks like Google has not indexed the new
site. We are using the keywords/descriptions from the old site, which appears
to still be listed if I search for the domain name explicitely, but does not
show up for search terms that we want it to show up for.

I do not know much about SEO and don't really have a ton of time to devote to
learning. Honestly I would rather focus on application development. But I do
want to keep them happy and give them some value for their money.

How can I improve their listing? My knowledge amounts to keywords/description
and that being linked to by sites higher in the search results helps your own
listing. What else is there? Is there a good site for SEO that I can learn
from?

If I wanted to out source this, is there anyone that you guys would recommend?
I get spam about SEO all the time but don't want to waste the money. I'm
looking for someone that knows what they are doing and can guarantee results
for a reasonable price.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!
