Tempting.. Um yea... I always did think you where one of the more
interesting CF-Communitiers out there ;-)

Sacramento is not a bad area. Not as big as the huge metropolitans of
San Francisco and LA but big enough to have lots of history and
culture. And a great cross roads to get to the large ones when you want
that and to the small foothill communities and outdoor recreation when
you want that. Two hours to San Francisco, Two hours to the Tahoo ski
areas, Two hours to the Napa wine country and Two hours to Reno. And
lots of other good stuff in between

Housing is better then the Bay area but high when compared to the
Midwest. BUT not nearly as high as it was a year or two ago. I'm
hoping to get out of our apartment and into a house this year.

$50-60K should allow for decent if a touch frugal living But it may be
a bit low for the job. My state tech job, with it's lower then private
salary, is in that range. I would guess that if they are head hunting
for a rare skill set that they are expecting to get somebody 70-75K+
maybe even low 100K depending on if they are splitting your salary with
a service or not. So do not undersell yourself.

And with that type of money and our depressed housing, you could live
very nicely here!
