I was with BellSouth for over 3 years.  Beta-customer.  Bridged DSL. 
 Fast.  'dynamic IP' - changed 4 times in those 3 years. No ports 
blocked.  No limit to dialup.

Get Earthlink.  PPPOE.  Pain in the arse Customer Service.  Paid extra 
for perm. IP (nice).  22 out blocked.  20 hours a month dialup.

All we have access to is ATT Cable.  The speed is phenomenal.  Dynamic 
IP (hasn't changed yet).  port 80 incoming blocked - blah all to heck 
and back... *grumblegrumble*.  And I just found out that we DON'T get 
ANY dialup access included.  WTH??  I /know/ that there are going to be 
periods of time where our cable service is down, and damnit, I just 
bought a modem for my Handspring, and saving up for the VisorPhone... 
 NO DIALUP????

bah.  humbug, even.
