Ah, definitions. What "is" is, right? You think evil is simply a
matter of worded definitions. Well, ok Caligula, I'll help you out.

(1.) Ronald Regan articulated it as, "torture and other inhuman
treatment or punishment". Note that he said BOTH torture AND inhuman
treatment.

(2.) Our founding fathers defined in the 8th amendment treatment that
was "cruel and unusual".

(3.) Justice Brennen defined it as "degrading to human dignity"

(4.) 1910 the US Supreme Court defined "hard and painful labor" as
cruel and unusual.

(5.) The US has agreed to an international enforcement of this
definition: "any act by which severe pain or suffering, whether
physical or mental, is intentionally inflicted on a male or female
person for such purposes as obtaining from him, or a third person,
information or a confession"

But PLEASE keep debating. I want everyone to understand that evil is
as simple as a common person who chooses to obscure evil through
definitions.

I want the World to see someone like you not just doing nothing, but
actively attempting to obscure evil through definitions.

Please continue. You're a teachable moment.
