Is that really how the breed what described to you?? Besides the fact that it's
not a Chinese dog at all, that sounds to me like one of these made-up designer
dogs that they convince people are "rare" special breeds worth lots of money.
What they usually tend to be are inbred, undersized dogs that are outside the
normal breed standard and thus not showable or normally of breedable quality
for AKC purposes. It's quite a little racket, and you'll find many internet
sites selling such dogs at outrageous prices. So for your friend's sake, I hope
they didn't get taken in like that.

As for whether your other dog will be "jealous" I doubt that. He may want to be
in with the other dog, but for socialization and to be able to play with him
(or herd him around) rather than out of jealousy that he gets to be in the
house.

Just by the by....sounds like you use "rat" as a degrading term....I find rats
to be amazingly fun and tough little critters. Definitely as rodents go, they
are fairly high up there in intelligence and playfulness. So a furry rat sounds
like a great pet to me. ;-)
