I edit huge videos all the time in Windows Movie Maker with no
problems.  Not sure why you would get out of memory errors if you are
just extracting a clip.  I suspect it is an access error, perhaps the
default save location is a Vista  junction and not a true folder.

 Adobe Premiere Pro also does a good job of extraction and has a 30
day free trial, but isn't the most intuitive tool.

Or if you wanna sent it to me, and tell me what you want extracted,
I'll do it for you.

As for displaying it once you're done, I'd sign up for uTube account,
upload it there, and just embed the link in whatever web page or email
you want to use to distribute it.
