Surely you didn't mean 30-40 years of the same dbs?  Tech move fast.
And it moves faster and faster (so far, at least).

I mean, there's a pretty big move towards things that do opportunistic
data synchronization and whatnot-- little AIR apps, etc.-- and it
seems like every JS lib worth it's salt now has an off-line mode.

Hell, what it's really about is making snowmobiles, as Boyd would say.
