I called and cancelled our service at the end of December....felt ironic after they answer the phone with "Hello Mr. *****, thank you for being a loyal DirectTv subscriber since 2004!". Actually, I had used DirectTV since 96, but disconnected while we built our house.
It seems that there are a lot of people moving away from the service....they offered me $150 credit on my bill and lower service that would only run $30/month among other offers on that same phone call.
