No, I don't think it would constitute a monopoly.  Cable companies
compete with Satellite, some phone companies (AT&T U-Verse, Verizon
Fios) do too, as does the internet with things like Hulu.  However -
even as phone and cable companies start getting into each other's
business with "bundling" the number of companies that controls that
market ***as a whole*** continues to go down.

Locally, assuming you have one phone company and one cable company you
have two choices - no more.  Often the only thing those two compete on
it who has worse customer service.

The direction is worrying, that's all...
