I have an HP DV6700.  Love it, need to get Win 7 on it.  It's dual boot
Vista/Ubuntu now.

I'd recommend an HP.  I also hear great things about Asus.

17" diagonal very nice screen.   I'd recommend them to anyone as solid
computers.

Before the HPs, I had a Sony Vaio that I used for eight years. Those
are also very nice.  It still works but has win98 and I can't upgrade
it.
