The cornhusker deal was on the healthcare bill, had nothing to do with Jim Bunning. Now who is changing the story mid-stream? But yes, the deal with Nelson is abhorrent. There was more shouting about it on the Left than the Right though.
The Senate needs to get rid of the fillibuster, period. The House was able to have open hearings in 3 separate committees and come up with a unified bill that was a compromise approach. The Senate is the Senate and they do a bunch of crap behind closed doors, ala the Gang of 6. I don't like it, not one bit. But don't try and pretend it isn't bipartisan. Senate Republicans have far more influence than they ought to with 41 seats. So stop whinging and wringing your hands.
