yes, and let me tell you how the law is enforced. I have NEVER ONCE been asked for mine, unless I am talking to HR at a new job. Even at an immigration checkpoint. I used to follow that law religiously until my purse got stolen and it took eight years and a thousand dollars -- the fee for the card and all the fees for the temporary 1-year cards -- to get a new copy because INS would not accept a change of address.
These days I leave it at home.
