>The Torah is a part of the Hebrew Bible. > Ok, fair enough. I see where you're coming from now.
Yes, the Torah is only the first five books of the Christian Bible. The rest of the writings are seperated out by the Jews. They have the rest seperated out kind of like the Testaments except it's divided by subject matter rather than when it was written. It is not, however, collectively known as the Hebrew Bible and the rest of it is not regarded as equal to the Torah the way it is in the Christian Bible. The writings of the Prophets are important, yes, but not as much so as you think. A modern example is the way the Adventist church views the writings of Ellen White. The Bible is the foundation and Ellen White (a prophetess) built upon it. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Order the Adobe Coldfusion Anthology now! http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Coldfusion-Anthology-Michael-Dinowitz/dp/1430272155/?tag=houseoffusion Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/message.cfm/messageid:317989 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-community/unsubscribe.cfm
