Looking for work? Unemployed need not
apply<http://money.cnn.com/2010/06/16/news/economy/unemployed_need_not_apply/index.htm>

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The last thing someone who is unemployed needs to
be told is that they shouldn't even apply for the limited number of job
openings that are available. But some companies and recruiters are doing
just that.

Employment experts say they believe companies are increasingly interested
only in applicants who already have a job.

The article goes on to say that there is a prejudice against those
unemployed. The reasoning is that if you were a quality worker, you
wouldn't be jobless.

That is wrong on so many levels. So many businesses have closed to inept
management. Nothing to do with the rank and file.

Also, hiring someone from another employer doesn't necessarily create
another opening. The other employer may decide to merge the job with
others.
