Yup...what passed was essentially Dole's alternative to the Clinton
healthcare bill.

Isn't that what happened with health care reform? All the major ideas
and implementations were taken from the Republican health care
proposals in the 1990's. I guess the current crop of republican
leadership (most of whom were in office at the time) have very short
memories - since they don't seem to recognize their own handiwork on
healthcare.
