Normally, I would come down on such language as well, Ben, but the tone of
his email seemed to me to not be directed at specific people and said in
jest more than anything, or in frustration, but not maliciously. So I let
this one go.
I personally think that the reason for the promiscuousness in our society
has a lot to do with the fact that we surround ourselves with sexually
explicit media and pictures. Not that teenagers weren't sexually active
before television, movies and sexually explicit billboards, but I don't
think such behavior was as common. I'd love to know if any studies have
been done on the percentages of teenagers today who are sexually active vs.
ten years ago, twenty years ago, etc., and the role our media has in this.
