The purpose of a discussion list is discussion, to exchange ideas and examine them for their merit. While I personally see little merit in Nick's argument for retributive justice as a response to abhorrent behavior, it really bothers me that everyone is so obsessed about who called who what and the dictionary meaning of a word and who is a hypocrite and what have you. I for one would rather see a discussion about capital punishment than Kevin calling Ben a hypocrite. Just because we know bigger words doesn't mean we should act like we are out at the playground at recess. Anyone care to defend Nick's comments?
