I know. I did. But it's the same concept. > People cheat the system. I have seen it, more times than I care to remember. Agreed. > All I asked is, 'is it fair to assume everyone on welfare is cheating > the system because a few people on welfare are cheating the system'. However, based on your responses in this thread, > it may be possible that you think it is fair to make this assumption. Not at all. It isn't ok to assume EVERYONE is cheating the system. But if I was overlord of the welfare system, I would be justified to want to check to make sure that people are not cheating the system. > So no one has to go look, here is part of one of your replies: > >> Actually, it's acceptable to me. For that, I will agree. and I think that you misunderstand what I am trying to say. There's a difference between pre-judging and planning for the worst.. I can pre-judge that all Christians are against gay marriage (I don't believe that, but that is pre-judging). It's not right, but that's what pre-judging is. If a Christian comes up to me and asks if I'm gay, I feel I would be justified to be a bit leery about the question.. Why would they want to know.. Let's move it to the police officers... I would not be willing to assume all cops are bad as default... I would be willing to be worried about answering a question of "Do you drink and drive" from a police officer. See the difference? It's ok to be cautious when talking to the police (or anyone).. But it's not ok to assume every cop is bad and therefore, out to get you. > On Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 10:58 AM, Phillip Vector > <[email protected]> wrote: >> >> On Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 7:53 AM, Scott Stroz <[email protected]> wrote: >>> >>> Would it be fair to automatically assume that all people on welfare are >>> cheating the >>> system until proven otherwise?
