travel, mixing of cultures, and cheapness. I am sure somewhere on earth there is a guy that is making doors this cool.
But, no one can afford to pay him to take 6 weeks to make a door. instead we buy from home depot. who ship the door in from Chile. So, a cheaper made door, that can be made faster, with less wood, and less needed craftsmanship (science) takes over from the hand crafted beauty (art).
