They killed Bin Laden, not Al Qaeda. It's not like Victory Day over the
Nazis. Bin Laden ceased being relevant years ago. He's barely been heard
from - amazing considering where he lived. There must be a sense of
catharsis with this guy's death. I'm thinking Obama may use the moment to
push for an end to the Patriot Act, which is set to expire in 27 days. I say
let it expire, it's time to dial back to the good old days of freedom.

Popular sentiment in the Arab/Muslim world seems to have turned away from Al
Qaeda. Arabs instead desire to throw off the shackles of tyranny and have
risen up to demand freedom and individual rights across the region. I'll
celebrate that. They earned it by risking their lives in peaceful protests
against their regimes. I'll celebrate our troops who freed Iraq of Saddam
and helped build a democratic model, however flawed, that clearly inspired
the rest of the Arab world. I'll celebrate our troops in Afghanistan
fighting against the Taliban. And I will note that there is still much to be
done on the freedom agenda.

We got in this fight to protect our own freedom against an Islamic terrorist
meance, but we will find our greatest security in helping the people of the
Muslim world fight for and protect their freedom as well. We're all in this
together.
