Well, here's an analogy:

I want a cup cake. The government says they would like to build a new $2
billion dollar stealth helicopter to deliver me my cup cake. I say "Uh no
thanks, that's a terrible idea, a waste of money, all i want is my cupcake".
Government says forget it, we're building the helicopter anyway.

Am I a hypocrite if I still eat my cup cake?

(And yes, someone at work just brought in cup cakes :)
