Same here. That said if this area is such a hotbed of CF then why the fck can't we get more people to attend the Northern Virginia Users Group? (Sorry a bete noir of mine). It seems to me that CF developers in this area are very insular, and many simply are time keepers, not interested in updating skills or learning new approaches.
I get calls and emails about CF related jobs regularly. Mostly these are elsewhere in the country. I usually respond that I can't relocate but would be interested in the job if its a telecommute. No response after that. Although at the same time I usually point the recruiter to CF-Jobs. As for OBD, unlike Railo, its been my impression that its more of a hobbyist app, not having the support of an external company, only a bunch of enthusiasts struggling to keep it updated. Because of that they're about 1 to 1.5 versions behind CF and Railo.
