I'm not sure how it compares with the current ones, although my gut
instinct would say it's a step below in photo quality just because of the
physics of sensor size.

As for lenses, the mount for the Nikon 1 lenses is quite a bit smaller.
 These lenses will easily fit in your palm.  You can get an f-mount
adapter, which I plan on getting.  Not only will it allow you to use your
current Nikon lenses, but it also has the effect of a 2.7 crop factor.
 That's going to make my 300mm lens effectively 810mm ! :)
