thanks for the clarification.

I'm reading a fairly interesting book right now on the psychology and
neurophysiology of poltical beliefs. The author seems to be chasing
many of the same research has I've been digging up. Its well worth the
read, but please don't be turned off by the title, The author dissects
the liberal mindset as well and at times quite brutally.

The Republican Brain: The Science of Why They Deny Science- and
Reality by Chris Mooney.

Without going too much into the book, Mooney looks at what mostly is
the state of current research on the psychological and physiological
differences among different sorts of liberals and different sorts of
conservatives. Its a pity though that he gave this book such a bad
title, since its about a lot more than just the psychological
processes of republicans, when its an overview of the physical and
psychological processes involved in political affiliation.
