Beyond the talking heads, I don't know many atheists that would outright state
that there is no god or no possibility of a god.

Atheist is such a pejorative term, at least when used by religious peeps.

I was talking with someone a few days back and they were saying my atheism was
a "belief". I likened it to reading a book..say the Lord of the Rings -- when
you finish that book, do you spend hours debating whether or not Sauron is
real. When you come to the conclusion that he's not real, do you label it a
"belief". I read the bible the same way. When I finished, I didn't ponder
whether that god exists. I realized it was a set of stories from a long time
ago (and not even really good ones at that) and that's where I left it.

I won't deny the possibility of a god. That would be bad science start with a
conclusion. I think Possibilianism is just another term for a way of thinking
that people have been doing for a long time now.
