Yes but you still had to treat them with respect and deference. It did not mean saying go fck yourself to them. You may not like the president but you have to treat him with the respect due to his office.
That said I do recognize the hypocrisy of that, given my attitudes towards George W. Bush. In my own defense I can say that as a civilian I can do that. As a military person, you freedom is limited.
