Sam - Looking at a few years of data and saying 'look, it is not getting warmer' is purposely obtuse when you consider that the Earth is billions of years old. That is akin to taking someones pulse for a nanosecond and concluding they are dead because you did not feel a heart beat. The 'trend' is that it is getting warmer. This does not necessarily translate into every year being warmer than the last, there may be some dips, but over all, it is getting warmer.
I am not sold that humans are the sole source of the warming trend, but I feel confident in saying we are, to some degree, contributing to it. On a side note, anyone who thinks pumping carbon dioxide and other pollutants into the atmosphere is not something we need to concern ourselves with is a moron.
