You make a great point Judah, and I have also known illegals who have been here
for years, working hard. Hell, my daughter had a friend in HS in Texas who’s
parents were illegals. They both had good paying jobs, a nice house, their
daughter was intelligent and was in the same honors classes as my daughter. You
would never know they were here illegally, and to be honest, I would not have
an issue with them staying here and getting legalized. But, unfortunately,
there are way too many who are not like that. When I was stationed in El Paso,
TX back in the mid 90’s, Clinton beefed up the border security detail to the
point where the illegals had a super hard time getting across. Within one week,
petty crime and shop lifting was down dramatically. When that experiment ended,
crime went back up. Not a coincidence.
