Politico...beitbart...dailycaller...why not just use the nationasl
Enquierer...the NE has Way more journalistic integerty than any of those. Did
you even read the HuffPo article? ABC News article is blog...not a real news
article... And as far as the Debt Ceiling and the US paying our obligations,
should there really be any negotiation? Seriously man...

Most of the items that are in the "Promise Kept" bin were also very much
compromised to death. Look at the ACA...it was so compromised that it was
actually a republican bill in it's orgin. Very little was actually crafted
originally by democrats.

Did Sam hack your email or something?

Then there's this:
http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/obameter/

It shows 24% of Obama's promises have ended in "compromise"... when you look at
what they are most of them are what I put in the "little stuff"
category.

Uh huh... take a look at the list of compromises above, PayGo is one of those.
Looking at the VA bill's history, it failed because Reid tried to push through
a "PayGo waiver" (my words) which would release the Senate from finding the
money from other cuts. That required 60% which they didn't have.

However, so many of these things are presented as if they happen in a vacuum.
There was another alternative that was proposed by the GOP that would have put
the bill through with only a simple majority. At that time the GOP wanted
tougher sanctions for Iran voted on but Reid would not put it to the floor for
a vote. The proposed compromise on the VA bill was to allow a *vote* on an
amendment to include the sanctions.

And if Obama is the so-called compromiser, Reid is the shield that makes it so
he doesn't have to. All it takes is Reid not allowing something to the floor
for debate and any issue brought up by the GOP is null and void. You want a
Congress that says "No" to everything, start with having a Senate Majority
Leader that is not willing to allow debate and move on from there.

Was tacking the Iran sanctions on to the VA bill the right thing to do?
Maybe, maybe not... but it was Reid's decision to not allow the discussion to
happen.

Until Later!
