Dude, I think you have it bass ackwards! Dopamine imbalances are usually associated with Schizophrenia (although it's more complicated than that).
The cause of Parkinson's is not known. -----Original Message----- From: jon hall [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Monday, September 09, 2002 2:26 PM To: CF-Community Subject: Re: Janet Reno in Florida Chemical imbalances are the root of most mental disorders...I believe that Parkinson's is the inability of the brain to manufacture sufficient levels of dopamine (I might be wrong there, but I'm close if not). It requires continual medication, and brain function will be hampered. A physical disability I would have no problem with, but a mental disability is not exactly something I look for in a politician. -- jon mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Monday, September 9, 2002, 2:13:26 PM, you wrote: bac> Jon- bac> Parkinson's isn't a "mental illness" - not in the sense bac> of schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, paranoia, etc. bac> It's a disease of the brain that affects motor functions bac> but not "sanity". bac> IMHO better to have JR with Parkinson's than the current bac> crew with idiocy - as you said, symptoms of Parkinson's bac> can be treated <g>. bac> -Ben >> I just thought I'd add that she has Parkinson's Disease.
