Any sane person can agree that suicide bombing is hideous, and I am sure the bombers themselves can aswell. The question is, what drives people to do this?
My answer is desperation. If there was no other way, anything goes. Believe me. Let me drive the point in. If somehow, Iraq got control of the US, and forced us to be second class citizens, our children are dying, and we hardly have any military weapons, a couple of us guys would band together to destroy them in any way. Even suicide bombing Iraq. And then we'd be praising and calling him courageous and selfless. Come on, nobody is anymore different. All of us can be driven into desperation. Ever read Lord of the Flies? Ever watched the Pearl Harbor movie and how they agreed to go on a suicide mission at the end? Ever watched Armageddon and bruce Willis agreed to stay and blow up the asteroid? Ever watched Independence Day and how that old guy drove his fighter jet into the alien ship because his missiles won't launch?
