Kentucky switched to the CC styles sometime in the last year or two -- my "I
can drink now" license is old-school but my dad's new one (acquired earlier
this month) is CC style.
They do appear, at first glance anyway, harder to fake. Back in college, I
knew a guy who made old-style Maine licenses that looked better than the
real ones (sharper, more professionally assembled). He even faked the
holograms with gold ink between two laminate layers.
Of course, those of us who don't drink had no need of them. Besides, I had
several people willing to liquor pimp for me if I needed wine for cooking or
a party or something. :-)
