Aaah! Jarred sauce on a first date? You deserve to get canned!

The meal I mentioned was a chicken in a lemon/sherry sauce over an egg white
base with hollandaise sauce. Green beans. Good bread (from a bakery, but I
can't do it all!) with a homemade parmesan spread made from this really good
spread I found called Olive-It (haven't seen it in years, though), cheese,
and 11 secret herbs and spices.

Okay, so I did overcook the hollandaise just a bit, but it was the first
time I made it, I had no double-boiler, and before some wisealec asks, I
didn't have two pans that would nest, either.

We were already in a relationship at that point, but it was the start of a
wonderful night of dinner, dancing, dessert, etc.

: I offered the same (to my current gf) as my initial pick-up line, and
: when she showed up the next day (an hour early), I had yet to go to the
: store.
:
: The best sushi in town, delivered in 20 minutes, saved the day.
:
: When reminiscing on our year anniversary she told me that it was best
: that is worked out that way, because too many guys consider dumping a
: jar of sauce over under/overcooked spaghetti to be a "nice home cooked
: meal" (which, and I never told her, is what I was going to make!).
