First, we would have never gone in against Sadam in the first place if he
hadn't invaded a nation we had allied ourselves with.

Second, if he had complied with the agreements he signed at the end of the
Gulf War, we would not being going in again. All Sadam has to do is to
comply with
the agreements he signed and with the UN resolutions and there will be no
war.

If it was about the oil, we would have pushed in the UN for allowing Iraq
to
sell more than it is allowed to now. And it's currently the French that are
in violation of the trade embargo by illegally purchasing Iraqi oil.

If it was the oil we were going for we would have moved already, we would
have
layed waste to what remains of Iraq, we would have eliminated every Iraqi
we
could find and we would set up American companies to pump it with US
military
protection. Iraq would have become another US territory. If we were after
the oil.

  <cf_sarcasm>
It's always the Oil. It was American Oil we were fighting the British off
for.
It was southern Oil the Union was out for. It was European Oil that drove
us to
commit vast acts of cruelty against the passive, peace loving Germans. And
the Italians.
We all know what vast supplies the Italians were sitting on. That Japanese
Oil was
such a draw we nuked them twice to get it. Then there was all that oil in
Korea
and Vietnam. Not to mention Haiti, Panama, and Granada. That Beirut Oil was
sure
worth the lives of 200+ Americans!! What a deal. And then Afghanistan. Boy,
we
cleaned up on that. We should be set for the next 1000 years with all the
Oil we're
 gonna pump out of there.
  </cf_sarcasm>

Has anyone ever stopped to realize that if it was the Oil we were after,
that we
would have taken the stuff by now? Why did we not take control of the
Kuwaiti fields?
How come we did not make Iraq sign an agreement allowing us to pump an
unlimited
amount of Oil from their fields in the southern no fly zone? How come we
didn't force
Iraq to ship us 10 million barrels a day as reparations? How come we don't
threaten
the middle east with nukes? With the capacity we have for annihilation, we
should
never pay for another barrel of oil again!! Oops, sorry. Sarcasm outside of
the
 appropriate tag. My bad.

Is everyone pretty much ignoring that this whole Iraq thing is obviously for
the oil? Am I just stating the obvious with that? Do people actually think
that it's big bad Sadaam that we're after?
