Afghanistan under the taliban gave al quaeda money and a place to train safely and probably weapons as well. So if you yank the state sponsorship you make a huge differenece! Just compare afghanistan to iraq. Afghanistan gave alqaeda what it could: some money and some small weapons and safe haven. Iraq will give them: huge money from oil and major weapons and safe haven. Iraq helping terrorism is 10x worst than afghanistan helping terrorism. And weve seen the results of afghanistan helping terrorism.
