Tim: I have recently gotten into fishing. I go with a couple of neighbors every Sunday morning at around 6am. I have never fished prior to this and now I anxiously await each Sunday morning to go. I like sitting there in the dark and quiet with no one else on the beach (other than the three of us). No one really talks; we all just sit there watching the waves. Since you mentioned money, if you're on a budget, go to Kmart or Target and get a pole/reel for about $30. You won't catch tuna or shark with that pole, but you could probably snag a medium-sized bass.
Yeah, it's cold in here in NYC, and being on the beach only magnifies that cold. If you're bundled up properly, you won't feel a thing and you'll have more fun. I haven't caught anything yet, but my neighbors have. Striped (aka Rock) bass is out there, and my neighbor caught a 20 pounder the other day. He filleted the fish, and that night we were feasting on the meat. It was incredible! During the warmer weather, I like to ride my motorcycle to blow off some steam. If you've got kids, I don't think there's a better stress reliever than taking them out to the zoo or aquarium. My daughter loves to go to those places and it's always fun. Kinda makes you forget all of the things that stress you but don't really matter in life. I am spending way too much time in front of this damned screen. I need something to relax. Any suggestions? I don't have much in the way of play money, I figure I will just have to get back into America's Army in a serious way. Very tense lately. Starting to snap at co-workers and stuff. I wish I could just go get really really drunk, but I can't do that. Any way any ideas would be appreciated.
