As of December 31, 2001, the Centre for Infectious Disease Prevention and Control (CIDPC) reported a cumulative total of 18,026 AIDS cases. Of the 16,407 adult male AIDS cases, 77.9% were attributed to MSM and an additional 5.0% were attributed to the combined group MSM and injecting drug use (MSM/IDU).1 So now, it is fair to say, in Canada, that AIDS is mostly a desease, almost 80%, of male homosexuals. Plain and simple. I am looking for numbers like these for the US as we speak.
