1) Corporations do pay taxes. So if they ever made a profit or paid dividends, they paid taxes.
2) Child tax credits are income redistribution. If taxes on people with children are so burdensome that they need tax credits, then every other tax payer should get them also. In my opinion, taxes should not be used to promote or negate behavior. Any tax breaks for family structures is just that.
