Doug,
I am not afraid to discuss any subject(even when I should be ;-) ).

I tend to be on the pro-Bush side myself but perhaps more willing to admit
that everyone makes mistakes and being a manager myself, know that team
members have a tendency to tell the boss what he/she wishes to hear. The
higher up the organization, the more dangerous the tendency becomes to the
health of the organization.

What we also need to do is to give Bush the same time that many where asking
him to give the UN process. To do otherwise is to do what many have accused
Bush of doing with the same impact on credibility.

Finding out what really happened and existed/exists in Iraq and with the US
intelligence community will take time. There will be errors found and
hopefully some good things as well. But it will take time and continued
questioning to uncover both the good and bad so that we can do more of the
former and less of the later.

Andy

Do not be afraid to discuss this subject, even though there are several on
this
list who believe in Bush absolutely and without reservation. The entire
planet
is asking for proof of the presentation made in speech after speech and
Powell's
presentation before the UN. Without that evidence, or at least evidence
that
they existed and were destroyed (which was Saddam's obligation under the UN
resolution(s )) The credibility of the US in international affairs is
compromised. It will no doubt have an effect on the upcoming elections as
well,
as well as Blair's future in British politics.
The humanitarian reasons are good and valid, the financial support of
suicide
bombers in Palestine is an established fact. The Al Quida support is still
somewhat suspect. There are indeed other regimes which should be toppled as
well, but is it the duty of the US to do that, unless there is a clear and
present domestic danger?
I feel it is a topic worthy of discussion, while I doubt any minds will be
changed.
