Then I have to agree that it can not serve as prove of identity. Unless it has 
fingerprints / iris scan / DNA sample or something, but I doubt that :-)

There are various options for me to prove my identity. I can use my drivers license, 
my passport, and if I go to the city hall I can get an identity card. And those are 
just the official ones. In everyday live I have my campuscard, my bank card (build-in 
processor can be used for TTP PKI authentication) etc.
