Um no. Many loyalists were put into concentration camps and their
goods and property were confiscated. One of the agreements made in
the treaty that ended the Revolutionary War was the release of the
Loyalists and those that wished could emigrate to Canada. However for
those who served the crown, magistrates, soldiers and civil servants,
were expelled. Daniel Lyons was apparently a strong supporter of the
Crown, so after he was released, they kicked him and his family out
of the 13 colonies. One of the family stories has his great
grandson, Joseph, being the chief magistrate of the Miramache
district. His cousin was the biggest horse thief of the area. funny
enough he was caught and tried quite a few times, but never
convicted. I wonder why.
