Well, one of the biggest benefits is tax deductions for all sorts of things ... But this also means more paperwork, and possibly hiring an accountant as it can get hairy. So it's a pro/con type of thing to do. If it's just side jobs, might not make any differnce in the long run ... If it's your sole source of income ... You may want to look into something formal.
There are SO MANY sites on the net just BURSTING with info for small businesses.
