Democracy is dead.

A strong statement but when money buys anything (including the
presidency of the USA - $200 million for an election campaign???), the
populations wishes are ignored or ridiculed, corporates can buy anything
they want (including laws) and no real choice is offered between parties
or candidates, it's an inescapable conclusion.
