Actually, I have a Live! Card with the digital output and I bought matching digital speakers to go with it. Unfortunately, there was something bad about the digital cable that picked up all sorts of noise and introduced it into the signal, making a crackling noise in the speakers. Switching to the analog ports solved the crackling problem.
