Don't have time to get into that today, but my point was just the way
history is taught. I was taught A, you were taught B. 

Both sides are probably saying they won because gee they were invaded and
did not lose any territory. (I believe the British invaded as retaliation
for the raid on Canada? The Americans were allied with the French, who were
at war with Britain at the time, and they picked on Canada because it was
closer than Britain but a British territory at the time, is what I
understand)
