I don't appose abortion or the death penalty. The constitution only
mentions one of those though, so the federal government can execute someone
after due process of law.

I don't think we should treat children badly at all. I think until the
point is reached where it is obvious that a parent can not handle their own
children (arrest for abuse or something like that) then we should (at a
state level) step in and do what needs to be done. Should probably start
with trying to place the children with it's family. As you mentioned
earlier this is not without risks, as you encountered yourself. Nothing is
perfect. At some point there needs to be some state program to take care of
orphans and those that can't be helped elsewhere, I just think that it
should get no federal money, and that it should be a last resort.

I am pro choice, with reservations. Restrictions on third term abortions
seem reasonable to me. I am not sure I agree with the move where you like
the politics thing though; it would seem to make us all single-issue
voters. It's a better solution than across the board restictions on
abortion though, I will say that.

However my main point here is to point out the inconsistency. It goes both
ways... why deplore capital punishment because all life is sacred, but
flatly refuse to say anything about abortion? Why oppose all abortion but
then treat the resulting children like an unwanted litter of kittens?

Absolutist positions make me nervous.
