Deanna:

If your budget is really tight, and I don't know where you are, take a look at getting
a used monitor. Where I am, in West Virginia (Charleston area), there's a government
surplus property warehouse, and each Friday, they have a closed auction on everything,
including a ton of office furniture and computer equipment. I picked up a really good
21" monitor for $75, and also some old computers, servers and a whole bunch of other
stuff. You may look at something like that - it won't be new, but it may help you
save some money until you can afford something better.

Another possibility are the computer shows. Again, I don't know if there are ones in
your area, but you may be able to pick up a used monitor there. This is one of the
companies that organizes computer shows:

New 19" CRT monitors are pretty cheap these days. CompUSA, Circuit City, BestBuy,
Staples and OfficeMax have them on sale regularly, although you usually have to mail
in a rebate. As always, get a good dot pitch and screen resolution. LCDs are the way
to go, but you still can't get even a 15" LCD for $200.

>Hey folks,

>(I'm giving the old puter to a friend and she's going to buy us a new
