The houses are not completely gone, the foundations can still be found. In about 10 feet of water. Covered with about 2 feet of sand. Check out Napatree Point, Westerly, RI. Jerry Johnson >>> [EMAIL PROTECTED] 09/19/03 11:25AM >>> Did anyone else see the special on PBS on Wednesday night about the hurricane that hit New England in the 30's. I think it was Sept. 21, 38. It was totally scary and totally fascinating. Entire coastlines of houses were wiped out. They had this one shot of a spit of land filled with summer houses (I think it was in Rhode Island), then they dissolve to the "after" photo from the same vantage point, and there's nothing there. All the houses are completely gone. If you've ever doubted the power of a hurricane, this would have convinced you. -d ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|
