>Thought I would start a thread for people in the hurricane area to >tell their stories and check in. I'm in Manassas Virginia, about 30 miles west of DC. We went through Isabel without any problems. We were prepared - water food extra batteries. But it looks like we did not need them. When the winds began to pick up around 4:30 or so we tracked down the ferrets (they like to stash themselves in all sorts of weird places in the house) and put them in the cage beside our evacuation stuff (food, water medications etc) - just in case. Anyhow we got through the night just fine. The lights flickered once. That was it. The wind was impressive though. We had a couple of branches in the back yard but nothing else. The only problems I've had was that my email went out around 10 am this morning. It looks like my provider lost power today. larry ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~|
