Stephenie,
Actually, I use an HMO and love it. I've seen 3 bills in the 9 years I've
been covered - one for an emergency room copay, one for an "uncovered
medical device (i.e. a shoe for a broken toe that cost $8.00), and one that
was a mistake. I can get in to see a doc or PA the same day, there's 24-hour
nurse on call service, and I can see most specialists without a referral.

So, don't nix the HMO without checking it out first.
